Meet the Art & Music Therapists

  • Martha Nicholls - Music Therapist

    Martha is a music therapist who works mainly with children and adolescents with SEMH and SEND.

    Since qualifying from the University of Roehampton in 2023, Martha has worked in alternative provision, SEN schools, mainstream primary schools and children's homes.

    She plays piano, alto saxophone, guitar and sings, and loves the open-ended nature of music therapy and the spontaneous music that can be created in the safe space.

    Martha is leading our 3-10 year old group on Saturday mornings. 

  • Imogen Dyer - Music Therapist

    Imogen trained as a music therapist at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and qualified in 2018.

    Imogen has experience in music therapy, music education and arts administration. She has worked in school and community settings with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

    She also works in adult mental health settings for the NHS. Imogen has a particular interest in working systemically with families and organisations.

  • Jack Steel - Music Therapist

    Jack graduated from the University of Derby with a Masters in 2022 and has worked in special education, dementia care and music therapy research projects since qualifying.

    His main instrument is bass guitar, he also plays piano, guitar and sings.

    Jack runs the face to face 11-16 year old age group sessions.

  • Josh Considine - Music Therapist

    Josh is a trained music therapist who completed his MA in Music Therapy at the University of Roehampton and graduated in 2023.

    He is a singer, a piano, guitar and cello player who has worked as a performer and music teacher since 2012. He has experience in working with young adults with learning disabilities, including profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and autism.

    Josh has a keen interest in mental health and is passionate about the impact that music-making can have on people’s well-being, something he believes should be accessible to everyone.

    Josh runs the face to face 17-25 year old age group that takes place every second Saturday of the month.

  • Emily Raiher - Music Therapist

    Emily is an experienced HCPC registered Music Therapist and received her Masters in Music Therapy at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2018.

    She has experience in specialist work with children with special educational needs and disabilities, adolescents and people living with dementia.

    She has composed for the Eden Project and performed as a vocalist with a range of contemporary artists having trained at the Royal Academy of Music and later at Salford University.

  • Fred Leonori - Music Therapist

    Federico (Fred) trained as a music therapist at the University of the West of England and graduated in 2023.

    He has been working as a music therapist with children (adoption, trauma, autism, learning difficulties) in school settings, and with adults (learning difficulties, dementia).

    Fred also studied classical double bass at the Conservatory of Music Santa Cecilia, Rome, Italy, and has been enjoying a performing career in jazz and classical music, as well as teaching his instrument.

    At the moment, in addition to his role as music therapist at In-Deep, Fred works as a music therapist in a special needs school. Fred is passionate about his vocation of sharing the transformative potential of music in individual and group music therapy

  • Keren Lewis

    Keren Lewis - Art Therapist

    Keren Lewis is a freelance Art Psychotherapist and works for In Deep providing Group Art Therapy for Early Years and will soon start begin some Art Therapy for a group of Adults with learning disabilities.

    Art Therapy can be a really important way for children and adults to process and communicate their inner world to themselves within the safety and freedom of the therapy space. It can bring relief for complex feelings and experiences and provide a creative and supportive way to allow difficulties and challenges to be seen and acknowledged. 

    Keren feels privileged to do this special work with even more special people.
