In-Deep Community Task Force Awards & Achievements

Transforming Lives through Volunteering Award 2008

Presented by Volunteer Centre Westminster in recognition of the achievements of our over 50s breakfast club. It was presented at the House of Lords by The Baroness Hanham CBE who has since become our patron.

Grass Roots Charity of the Year 2009

Given by No 10 Downing Street. We were chosen by Prime Minister Gordon Brown and his wife, Sarah Brown, to receive two turkeys donated by the British Poultry Association. We also received a luxury hamper, containing items from both Harrods and Partridges, which we distributed as part of our Christmas Hamper Scheme. Many were overjoyed, as they had never received items from these famous stores in their lives.

Participants in “The Big Lunch”

The filming of The Big Lunch was hosted by Baroness Warsi, chairman of the Conservative Party, who is a supporter of In-Deep, and took place at Grosvenor Hall.

Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service 2013

This was presented by the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of the City of Westminster, Brig Paul Orchard-Lisle, CBE, TD, at our lunch in July 2013. It was a truly memorable occasion. Only 17 charities in England received this prestigious award in 2013, out of 240 nominations.

Colin Chapman receiving his MBE for founding In-Deep and setting up essential services to support older people from the communities of south London. This was in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2012 and the Investiture took place on 16th November 2012. It is a great honour for all the dedication and hard work that Colin has put into bringing people together over the years.
