Meet the Music Therapists

  • Hannah Merchant - Music Therapist

    Hannah Merchant trained at Anglia Ruskin University, qualifying in 2021. Her music therapy approach is client-led, focusing on psychodynamic, developmental and music-centred techniques. She has had experience in different clinical settings, with placements in a Special Education Needs School, Paediatric Hospital and with people who have dementia and their caregivers. As well as beginning a role as a music therapist at In-Deep, Hannah will be working in dementia care at different care homes. She feels passionate about how music therapy can help people of all ages to communicate and express themselves through music.

  • Imogen Dyer - Music Therapist

    Imogen Dyer trained as a music therapist at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and qualified in 2018. Imogen has experience in music therapy, music education and arts administration. Imogen has experience working in school and community settings with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. She also works in adult mental health settings for the NHS. Imogen has a particular interest in working systemically with families and organisations.

  • Jack Steel - Music Therapist

    Jack Steel graduated from the University of Derby with a Masters in 2022 and has worked in special education, dementia care and music therapy research projects since qualifying. His instrument is bass guitar and also plays piano, guitar and sings.

    He has just joined the music therapy team and will be running face to face 11-16 year old age group sessions.

  • Josh Considine - Music Therapist

    Josh Considine is a trained music therapist who completed his MA in Music Therapy at the University of Roehampton and graduated in 2023. He is a singer, a cello, piano and guitar player who has worked as a performer and music teacher since 2012. He has experience in working with young adults with learning disabilities, including profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and autism. He has a keen interest in mental health and is passionate about the impact that music-making can have on people’s well-being, something he believes should be accessible to everyone. He just joined the music therapy team and will be running face to face 17-25 year old age group every second Saturday of the month.

  • Emily Raiher - Music Therapist

    is an experienced HCPC registered Music Therapist and received her Masters

    in Music Therapy at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2018. She has experience in specialist work with children with special educational needs and disabilities, adolescents and people living with dementia. She has composed for the Eden Project and performed as a vocalist with a range of contemporary artists having trained at the Royal Academy of Music and later at Salford Univeristy. She has just begun school works providing regular music therapy in Queensmill Kensignton and Chelsea and Oxford Gardens Primary School.
